MMC Contractors completed a renovation of mechanical systems at the Henry Doorly Zoo.
The project scope included removing and replacing two existing return fans with a new fanwall system, removing and replacing four existing chilled water coils, and replacing two packaged AHUs in the Lied Jungle. Our teams also replaced five existing supply fans and five return fans with the new fanwall system and replaced a chilled water coil in the Desert Dome, replaced the Scott Aquarium boiler, and serviced the main plant boiler, which services the entire Zoo.
This entire scope of work was completed without shutdowns, and each AHU needed to be fully demolished, reinstalled, and started up before any of the remaining work could be completed.
