MMC Contractors served as the mechanical contractor for the Phase II Improvements project at Little Blue Valley Sewer District Atherton Waste Water Treatment Plant in Independence, Missouri.
Our team’s scope of work included all above-ground process piping, equipment setting, HVAC, and plumbing. The project consisted of installing a new sludge incinerator, scrubber, and process heat exchangers, as well as work on the sand feed, sludge transfer, and ash disposal systems.
The team also worked on site improvements like adding a new belt filter press, modifying the conveyor system and installing all processing piping for the Ultra Violet Treatment Building. Plant operations maintained a 52-million gallons-per-day effluent flow during the improvements.
The project received a 2013-2014 Outstanding Mechanical Installation (OMI) Award in the Plumbing over $3 Million category from the Mechanical Contractors Association of Kansas City.
