St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center

St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center, a full-service hospital, improved its services through a $110 million construction project. The centerpiece of this project was the new, 6-story, 230,000 square foot Lakeside Patient Tower. The tower includes 180 new patient rooms and cultivates a patient/visitor-friendly environment through the use of water features, a fireplace, an outdoor courtyard, private rooms, and private waiting areas.

The fourth floor of the existing hospital and tower houses women’s services. These services include: a birthing center, spa-style suites, and a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with 26 private rooms for infants and their families. In addition to the tower project, an operating suite expansion and renovation increased the number of operating rooms from 11 to 16.

The central plant was expanded and a new, 1,200 vehicle parking garage was built. Renovation work to the existing hospital involved a number of areas: emergency, radiology, surgical services, a burn unit, a labor/delivery/recovery (LDR) room, employee services, and a cafeteria.

This project was procured utilizing a design-assist guaranteed maximum price method. MMC Contractors provided support from the pre-construction phase through commissioning.
