McCarran International Airport

MMC Contractors has been the preferred contractor for a number of projects at McCarran International Airport. From expansions to rehabs, our team has played an integral part in ensuring the seventh-busiest airport remains a premier one for its millions of visitors each year.

Projects include:

Terminal 3 Early Site Civil - This project consisted of underground infrastructure utilities for the future T-3 Terminal. Design features and challenges include:

Utility corridor which was 15 feet high, 15 feet wide, and 2,300 feet long; utilities provided multiple connection points to the future terminal; working on a 70-acre project site; the project was located within the confines of the 7th busiest airport in the United States; and performing work in an active airport with tight security

"D" Gate Expansion - The scope of work for this gate expansion to the existing McCarran International Airport consisted of a 125,000 square foot, 9-gate expansion of the existing "D" Gate Wing and included complete HVAC and plumbing systems installed in a secure environment. 

Project design and challenges included: 

Addition to existing, operational airport; working within secure environment
180,400 pounds of sheet metal HVAC air ducts
10 chilled water air handlers providing 877 tons of cooling
600 gallons of underground fuel storage
25,000 linear feet of plumbing with complete stormwater drainage system
More than 100 plumbing fixtures
50,000 feet of above-grade hydronic piping
1,700 feet of below-grade hydronic piping
Installation followed DOA policies, procedures, and specifications
Located within the confines of the 7th busiest airport in the U.S.
