Sacred Heart School

MMC Contractors completed a heating system replacement for a nearly 100 year old, two story elementary school in Omaha. This work was completed through CUES, with two other schools in the area receiving similar upgrades. The existing radiators, associated piping, and boiler were removed and replaced with two 750MBH high efficiency boilers and 41 Fan Coil Units throughout the 10 classrooms, offices, gym, and corridor and a new two pipe hydronic heating system.

MMC served as the prime contractor, managing the electrical, controls and general construction work along with the mechanical piping scope.

Unforeseen circumstances resulted in schedule delays due to abatement and equipment delivery. Despite these setbacks, MMC Contractors was the first of the three mechanical contractors involved with these upgrades to get their system energized and balanced.

New equipment installed at Sacred Heart School:

  • Two (2) 750 MBH High Efficiency Boilers
  • Two (2) base mounted 7.5 HP hydronic pumps
  • 1,700 LF of copper heating piping
  • 420 LF of grooved steel heating piping
  • (41) Fan Coil Unit Heaters
