Production Line Expansion

MMC Contractors has been working for this confidential food manufacturing client at their Gardner, KS and Independence, MO production facilities for a number of years. In February 2014, we began a complicated design-assist margarine production line expansion project with a deadline that many believed was impossible to achieve. The new production lines had to be at full production in order to meet consumer demand for margarine ahead of the fall holiday baking.

Between February and June of 2014, designs for Wave 1 and 2 were finalized; over 70,000 lineal feet of plumbing and sanitary food grade piping were fabricated and installed along with proprietary manufacturing and packaging equipment, air compressors, air receivers (400 gallon and 3,800 gallon), desiccant air dryer, boilers and the tank farm. In excess of 230,000 man-hours were worked in our fabrication shops and on-site in just under four months with zero lost time incidents. Wave 1 we were contracted to Walsh Construction. Waves 2 & 3, we are contracted directly to the Owner. MMC Contractors continues to work at this and other facilities throughout the country for this food manufacture who produces a wide variety of dry, fresh and frozen food products.
