Office Building and Retail
One Kansas City Place

MMC Contractors provided complete plumbing, piping and HVAC installations for this 42-story office tower located in the heart of the downtown financial and business district. One Kansas City place at 12th & Main, was completed in 1988. It's three year construction began just as MMC Contractors was in the final stages of construction of the Town Pavilion on the opposite corner. Once completed, One Kansas City Place became the tallest building in the city surpassing the Town Pavilion. It remains the second tallest habitable building in the state.

One of the unique features of One Kansas City Place is that the top floors are illuminated at night with red, white, and blue lights. And, throughout the year the colors change to red and yellow for Kansas City Chiefs games, blue and white for Kansas City Royals games, all red for Valentine's Day, all green for St. Patrick's Day, all pink during October for Breast Cancer Awareness, and red and green for Christmas.

The office tower houses several large accounting and legal firms, a large industrial development and brokerage firm, and a subsidiary of Kansas City Power & Light.
